Teaching Your Dog to Stop Jumping

Step #1-Establish an Off Command

The very first thing you will need to do is establish an off command. This is the command you will use whenever your dog jumps on you or other family members. You can use the word off, down or any other command that you choose. Each time the dog jumps on you, firmly use the off command. You should instruct anyone that comes to your home to use this particular command if the dog jumps on them, and within no time the dog should start to learn what the word means and that jumping is not acceptable.

Step #2-Teach Your Dog to Sit
